These words aptly sum up the importance of freedom.
The staff and students of St.Montfort school came together with great festivity to celebrate the 69th Republic day remembering the great martyrs whose sacrifice have made it possible for our generation to live freely with pride.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. Sanjay Kuwar, scientist Engineer ISRO.
The event started with the hoisting of the National Flag by the honorable Chief Guest followed by the National Anthem.
Then it was time for the republic day Parade.The various squads belonging to the classes 3rd to 11th presented a spectacular display marching forward on the melodious tunes of school band.
The other programme included patriotic songs and dance that highlighted the
importance of national integrity and peace. The colourful presentations were
applauded by all.
The day was also significant as the meritorious students were awarded. Firstly
the students of batch 2016-17(ex students )who had topped in their respective
subjects were felicitated and presented with the various awards instituted by
the school, well-wishers,social organization and benefactors. Secondary school
academic toppers of various classes of the session 2016-17 were presented
trophies.
The classes who stood first in the co –curricular activities were also given
class shields. The Chief Guest Mr. SanajayKuwar in his address asked the
students to be disciplined and hard working and to work towards building up our
nation.He blessed the students and wished them luck for the future. The Vote of
thanks was proposed by the school Asst.Head Boy and Head Girl.
