Having grown in popularity over the last few years, the 8th Montfort Cup inter-school debate competition organized on Tuesday 2nd Aug by St. Montfort School, Bhopal witnessed keen competition.
18 reputed schools of Bhopal were part of this debate competition with 36 participants’ .Topic for the debate was “DO WE NEED SMART CITIES OR SMART LAWSâ€.
The Judges for the occasion were Miss Rasmeet Kaur Malhi-Asst. Professor B.S.S. College and Miss Sumita Singh –Principal SOS School.The event began with the lighting of the lamp to seek the blessing of the God almighty followed by a Prayer dance. Students from various schools presented their views on the topic and also answered the judges’ questions confidently. Addressing the debators the judges appreciated the excellent efforts made by the schools, teachers and the participants. The Judges were felicitated with Mementos .The vote of thanks was proposed by Rev.Brother Alex Principal of St. Montfort School Patel Nagar Bhopal.
The Trophy for the Best Speaker “FOR†the Motion was awarded to Miss Muskan Pathak Carmel Convent School, Bhel , Bhopal and the Best Speaker “AGAINST†the Motion was awarded to Miss Sanchita Bisht , Carmel Convent School BHEL. The overall Trophy for the Best School went to Carmel Convent School BHEL. The Programme concluded with the National Anthem .
