Celebration Of National Integration Week
Quami Ekta Week (9-25 Nov 2017)
With a view to foster and reinforce the spirit of communal harmony National Integration and pride in vibrant, composite culture and nationhood,the QuamiEktaSaptah (National Integration week) was observed at St.Montfort school from 19th to 25th November 2017.
The objective is to highlight the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand actual and potential threats to the eclectic and secular fabric of our country and nurture a spirit of communal harmony in its widest sense.This occasion also provides an opportunity to reaffirm age old traditions and faith in the values of tolerance co-existence and brotherhood in multicultural and multi religious society.
The week long programme which were observed during QuamiektaSaptah were as follow:-
- On Nov 19, 2017:-National Integration Day was observed to emphasis the themes of secularism, anti-communalism and non-violence.The Principal, Staff and students of St.Montfort School took pledge to work with dedication to preserve and strengthen the freedom and integrity of the nation. They took oath of not resorting to violence and to continue to make and endeavor towards settlement of all differences and dispute relating to religion, language, region or other political or economic grievances by peaceful and constitution means. The pledge has been envisaged affirming support and commitment to eradicate corruption and to up hold highest standard of ethical conduct and transparency and good governance.
- 20 November, 2017 was observed as the Welfare of Minorities day.The school with the help of the students voluntarily collected books, copies, stationary materials and contributed to the children coming under the category of minority through the community service programme conducted by class X.
- 21 November, 2017 was observed as Linguistic Harmony Day to enable students of each region to appreciate the linguistic heritage of other parts of India. Students took part in a conversation based activity where students spoke in their own languages and stated the specialty- cuisine, culture, famous leaders etc of their state.This activity helped in promoting self-esteem in learners understanding crosscultural environment.
- Nov 22, 2017 was observed as weaker section day.Students of classes IX spend a day with the children in the orphanage and contributed in giving them food grains ,eatables etc.
- November 23,2017 was observed as Cultural Unity Day to present the Indian Tradition of unity in diversity and for promoting cultural conservation and integration.The students took part in the interschool cultural dance competition where in they presented all the seven classical dances of India showing cultural unity and National Integrity.
- Nov 24 2017 was observed as women’s Day.In order to show the importance of women in Indian Society and their role in development of nation building are highlighted.
- Nov 25 2017 was observed as Environment Construction Day to emphasis the growing need for awareness and action to conserve the nature.
- Mock Youth Parliament was also held at our school for observing Constitutional Day and also to make our students aware of the parliamentary procedures and code of conduct.
