Hand washing Project Through
     World  Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS)
  Every year, 1.4 million children do not live to celebrate  their fifth birthday because of diarrhea and pneumonia. Millions more miss out  on school due to these illnesses, reducing their opportunities to fulfill their  potential. Simple hand washing with soap is among the most effective and  inexpensive ways to help prevent these diseases. In fact, better health and  improved hand-washing can lead to a 40 per cent increase in school attendance  and a significant reduction in dangerous infections and illnesses.
  
  The Bharat Scouts and Guides is  implementing various WAGGGS projects, including Free – being-Me (body  confidence of the girl and young women), Stop The Violence (violence against  women), Surf Smart (Internet safety programme) and Hand Wash (health and  hygiene) in various parts of the country. On 30th November 2017, the  World Hand wash project was initiated for the first time at Bhopal at  St.Montfort School auditorium.The Handwashprogrammewas blessed by Smt.  SurekhaShrivastava,Deputy Director (Project) NationalHead quarters New  Delhi.From the State Head quarters,Bhopal, Smt. ChandrakantaUpadhyay SOC (G),ShriPrakashDisoriya  SOC(S) and Smt. UshaYadav Sub Divison ASOC were  also present on this occasion.
  
  All the dignitaries along with Rev. Brother Alex, Principal  St.Montfort School were welcomed with scarf by    Scouts and Guides.A live demonstration of Hand wash was shown by the  PresidentAwardees Guides of our school. The project in charge, Mr. Ravi in an  interesting manner revealed the concept through a poem as to how hand washing  with soap is an easy, effective and affordable intervention that prevents  infections a
nd saves lives 
  Mr.PrakashDisoriya appreciated the  Scout and Guide activities conducted regularly at St.Montfort School and  SmtSurekhaShrivastava gave information by throwing light on the National and  International Scout and Guide activities and wished students a bright future.
  
Rev. Bro. Alex Principal accorded  the Vote of thanks and encouraged the guest to conduct such activities in  future also.The programme concluded by a pledge for the same cause.
