REPORT OF ANNUAL SPORTS MEET-2016-17
Sports and athletics have been an integral part of St. Montfort school, Bhopal for years immemorial. Keeping up this tradition, this year too Annual Sports Meet was held with the same flamboyant spirit, on 30th November. The chief guest for the occasion was Rev. Bro. James Ekka, Special guest Rev. Sr. Jenova O.S.F. and Mr. P.P. Varghese O.S.D. Finance Ministry(M.P.). The Principal of the school Rev. Bro. Alex welcomed all the distinguished guests. The event commenced with the hoisting of the flag by the chief guests and declared the meet open followed by the inspection of the patrol by the chief guest.
Then, it was the time for the school to March to the drumbeat, synchronized in steps and spirit. March past by the students of Nursery to classs II was worth as the tiny tots kept up the montfortian spirit of teamwork and enthusiasm. The oath was administered by the chief guests to the head boy and head girl.
This Sports meet was observed with the theme of “EARLY INDIA GREEN INDIAâ€. Many cultural programmes like rain dance, jungle dance, and dance on green India were the colourful attraction of the meet. Number of races were held, in which kangaroo race, cotton ball race, tricycle race,water balloon race were the prominent and interesting races. Thereafter the Students were given medals and certificates accordingly. The academic toppers of 2015-16 were awarded. They are Harshwardhan Tiwari of Nursery, Sidhant Deshpande, Kumar Vedant Singh and Gunjan Sharma of KG-I Parth Parashar, Arna Khubani and Ridhima Jain ,of KG-II Akshat Bhalla Class – I Aakarsh Agarwal Class - II .The Champions were also awarded. Their names are Atharv Singh , Ridhima Rajput of Nursery , Granth Naidu , Sonakshi Bharke of KG –I Harshit Singh Sengar , Prachi Ahirwar of KG-II, Hemant Thakur, Madhavi Kushwaha of Class –I , Abhinav Soni and Kanishka Prasad of Class –II. While addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest felt extremely proud to see P.T display and athletics being pursued fervently and admired the creativity of the tiny tots.
The sports meet culminated with a vote of thanks by Headmistress Sr. Kripa. Finally the entire school stood together, proud and gay to sing the National Anthem.
