Eid, the festival of love and sacrifice was celebrated in St. Montfort School, Patel Nagar Primary wing on 21st Aug. 2018. The assembly began with a brief introduction by class I A highlighting the cultural importance of sacrificing. The celebration included an enactment by the students which told that “Eid-ul-Adhaâ€, the Muslim “Festival of Sacrifice†honors the willingness of the prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his young first-born, son Ismail as an act of submission to Allah’s command and his son’s acceptance to being sacrificed, before Allah intervened to provide Abraham with a lamb to sacrifice instead of his son. Bakri Eid is one of the most popular festivals celebrated by the Muslims all over the world where it is known as Eid-ul-Adha. Animals like goat, sheep, and camel are sacrificed on the day. It is a day of feasting and visiting the friends and family. This skit was followed by a beautiful dance performance by the whole class based on Eid song and at the end students of Class I A wished everyone “Eid Mubarakâ€.
